Erin Smith Fasanati is presently a Demi Soloist with the Joffrey Ballet. She has been dancing professionally for the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago since August 2000.  Her career as a Ballerina began at Southern Dance Theatre at the age of 4 and continued over the next 11 years.  Erin attended summer dance programs including Burklyn Ballet and Chatauqua.

At the age of sixteen, she was accepted into the Harid Conservatory of Dance, graduating from the program in 1998.  She then attended FAU for one year during which time, she auditioned and was accepted to the Joffrey BFA program at New School University in New York City.  She was initially cut from the audition in NYC for the Chicago Company; however, the following day, during a rehearsal for the Joffrey Ballet School end-of-year performance, the artistic director, Gerald Arpino, happened to see Erin do a run-through of the part she was dancing and immediately took interest in her.  He requested tapes of their final show and after a week, invited Erin to become an apprentice dancer for the Company.

Erin is now in her 4th season, settling into Chicago and recently married.  She is beginning a new and challenging life.  We wish her the utmost joy and happiness!
