Southern Dance Theatre will be collecting items for U.S. troops during the holiday season through the City of Delray Beach who is partnering with “You Are Not Alone” (YANA) and “One Soldier at a Time” for the 10th annual Project Holiday.
We invite you to join us as we collect desperately needed items to ship to soldiers unable to come home for the holidays. The community is encouraged to experience the true spirit of the season by contributing to this worthy cause.
We’ll have the collection box in our Lobby until December 2nd and will be delivering all the donations to Delray Beach’s City Hall on December 3rd.
Examples of needed items are: (travel size preferred):
Thermoguard pads (heating pads)
Holiday decorations (all faiths)
Bags of hard, individually wrapped candy and gum (i.e., lifesavers, dollar store hard candy – please no chocolates except for tootsie rolls, tootsie roll pops, charm pops, etc.)
Snacks that can easily be put in their pockets while on duty (i.e., fruit cups, peanut butter crackers, etc.)
Dried meats (beef jerky, Slim Jim, pepperoni)
Boxes of granola bars or similar, individual bags of nuts, dried fruit, trail mix or sunflower seeds • Boxed and/or individual drink packets (i.e., Crystal Light, Wal-Mart or Target brand, Kool-Aid, hot chocolate, etc.)
Non-perishable food items
Foil packed tuna and chicken
Purell hand sanitizer
Hand lotion and sun block
Batteries (i.e., AA or AAA)
Hygiene products (foot powder, deodorant, toothpaste, baby wipes no bigger than 2½ wide packages)
Socks (e.g., white or black knee-hi)
Holiday and encouragement cards

“One Soldier at a Time” is a project that supports our deployed military with care packages and words of encouragement.

Join the whimsical world of Creative Dance with Deborah Kahan! Dance teacher “extraordinaire”, Ms. Deborah will guide your young child through the magical world of dance. Let your child explore their unique movement as they are enticed to become aware of self expression and creativity. Fun props, rhythm instruments, scarves, hoops, and parachutes will help to set their stories to dance and music at its purest form, leaping, twirling, and swaying.
Ages: 2 1/2 – 4 years old
This year we’ll offer 2 15-week Creative Movement sessions and we are now accepting new students!
Session 1 Fall: September 6th – December 20th
Session 2 Winter: January 24th – May 9th
Free Registration! Each session is $275.
There will be a parent demonstration class so that parents can see all the children have learned. This class will not participate in recital.

We are excited to announce we’ll be opening an Adult Intermediate Ballet Class with Ms. Anne Polajenko Mondays from 1:00-2:30pm this fall! This class will begin on August 14th and will be $20 per class or 4 coupons for $75. Must have at least 6 students to hold class on any given Monday.
Pound Fitness Class with Ms. Holly Montes will continue from the summer into the fall and will be held Tuesdays 8-9pm. $15 per class or 6 for $75.
